So you have to rethink your build - is it really crucial to maximize your DPS ? Would you rather more have more Crowd Control ? Or just more survivability ? But if you have too much, you will take ages to take down bosses. In TL2 HC you have to make sure your character has enough survivability to sustain at least one crit. Or you can do a "no grind + no shared stash HC run", meaning you limit yourself to play each dungeon and boss room only once, and you can't use any item from previous characters. One well-known way to achieve a "safe" hardcore playthrough in TL2 is to grind Grell until you have 75% DR for example. In the case of ARPGs, Hardcore mode can be synonym of excessive grinds. That overyhype by people is total ballony. I can't really say what the end product for this game will be like but the maps feel very small and claustrophobic. There's a lot better options out there at least until they finish this game any way. I'll never understand why people over-hype Torchlight 2. So yeah as it stands both games are pretty weak ARPGs. Yet the funny thing is they probably have the same amount of content seeing as Torchlight 2 only has 1 set per class, one of each legendary weapons, no real end game content, no leaderboards, no seasons and you can only have 10 mods installed at once.
